The Ron Walker Story

One of the most interesting battles now underway in Australian domestic aviation centres around the Ron Walker operation out of Essendon to the provincial towns of Warr­nambool and Portland and across the Bass Strait to Devonport.

These services are operated by Metroliners.

The provincial runs have been built up with Cessna 402Bs over the past years and none of the big airlines want to compete. But the Melbourne/Devonport operation is in direct com­ petition with Ansett/TAA Friendships, the big stuff and the big fellows.
