Airborne action as it happens, brought to you wherever you are by radio! Now that we’ve told you where to listen to aircraft, and how, you may . . . ‘What with?’, which brings us to our third and final part of Let Your Ears Have Wings, dealing with HF, VHF and UHF Radio Receiving Equipment.

Recently there has been a quite revolution’ in the technology behind VHF and UHF receivers. Scanning radios, once fairly bulky in size have gone miniature, such as the AOR Model AR2001 programmable scanner, which is capable of tuning from 25 MHz to 550 MHz uninterrupted. The previously unobtainable UFH Military band between 200 MHz and 400 MHz is thus obviously included on the AOR and several other top-of-the-range scanning receivers.
