Australian air power on the world stage
The Royal Australian Air Force has achieved an impressive 3,500 hours of combat operations in just 100 days in Iraq. When the centenary clocked over on January 14, the entire Air Force could be proud of the achievements of Operation Okra as part of international efforts to disrupt and degrade Daesh (also known as Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant).
Air Force has helped the Iraqi ground forces halt Daesh’s advance, continuing to apply pressure to Daesh and restrict its movements.
