All Change?

In the office of Deputy Chief of Air Force (DCAF) Air Vice Marshal John Blackburn is a framed photograph of R1, the headquarters building at Russell Offices in Canberra which is home to the Chief of Defence Force, the Secretary of the Department of Defence, the service chiefs and their deputies, among others.

R1 is an unassuming looking modern building sitting at the back of Russell’s Blamey Square, so it would seem an unusual choice of subject to decorate a senior Air Force leader’s office – except for the caption under the photograph, which reads “Think Outside the Box”.
