The R88 is designed to be the most capable, affordable, and easy-to-maintain workhorse in its class. It offers exceptional versatility for a wide range of missions. With an internal payload capacity of over 2,800 pounds, the R88 will deliver more than 3.5 hours of flight time and a range of over 350 nautical miles. It can carry up to two pilots and eight passengers, with a passenger total of 1,800 pounds even at full fuel.
The aircraft features an open-tail rotor and two-bladed main rotor system, plus new LED exterior lighting, including pulsed landing and taxi lights, tail rotor lighting, scene lighting, and entry lights. Large sliding doors on each side simplify access for passengers and cargo, while the rear fold-down door accommodates a HEMS stretcher. Standard or optional high skids are available for firefighting and utility missions.
Inside, the cabin features flat floors, easy-to-maintain materials, and versatile configurations, including forward and club seating as well as air medical and public safety setups. Robinson Helicopter also designed the air conditioning system, ensuring consistent quality.
