Boeing, Bell eye opportunities in the potential early replacement of the Tiger ARH
Under current Defence planning, the Australian Army’s Tiger ARH, the subject of a critical ANAO report published in September 2016 which highlighted the program’s lower than expected serviceability rates and growing obsolescence issues, is slated to be upgraded under the LAND 9000 Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter Capability Assurance Program and then replaced from the mid-2020s under plans outlined in the new Defence White Paper’s Integrated Investment Program released in February 2016.
Not surprisingly then, Avalon became a forum for helicopter manufacturers to push their options to replace Army’s fleet of 22 Tigers.
