CASA’s new regulations for commercial drone use has sparked concern, as many new RPA operators just don’t understand the implications of their activities as they relate to the greater aviation spectrum
Hollywood has given rise to the image of drones in forms as varied as Harry Potter’s cute winged-ball, or ‘Golden Snitch’, to menacing forms that darken the sky in films such as Terminator. And to read some dramatic headlines regarding the growth of unmanned aircraft, the general public may well lean towards the latter in their perceptions.
Regardless of one’s perspective, the growth in the use of such systems in both commercial and recreational forms is virtually unprecedented. But so too are the good many challenges brought on by the rise of the drones.
