Piaggio Avanti ICK is the only new type shown in the New Allocations this issue.

The Avanti is a nine-seat, twin-engine business turboprop built by Piaggio in Genoa, Italy. It has a rear-mounted wing that enables the wing spar to pass through the fuselage without encroaching on the passenger cabin, a small canard wing on the nose, a T-tail and two delta fins at the base of the tail. The forward wing’s angle of incidence is slightly greater than the main wing making it stall first and producing an automatic nose-down attitude prior to the onset of a main wing stall. The cabin cross-section varies continuously along the length of the fuselage giving greater laminar flow along the fuselage with Piaggio claiming that 20 per cent of the lift is provided by the fuselage. It is powered by two 850shp (630kW) Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-66B engines mounted in pusher configuration, and the rear wing and pusher engine design provide much lower cabin noise as the engines are well back behind the cabin.
