Advanced Works
$600 million OneSky program moves forward after Avalon Airshow contract signature
The ambitious project to deliver a harmonised civil and military air traffic management (ATM) system throughout Australia has taken a big step forward after Airservices, the Department of Defence and Thales Australia have signed an “advanced works” contract to undertake the first phase of the Combined Civil Military ATM System (CMATS), or OneSky, at the Avalon Airshow on February 27.
CMATS will see both civil and military air traffic controllers utilising the same ATM system platform, and will provide the foundation for significant operational improvements to civil and military airspace users.
