Alister McClymont’s Found Bush Hawk NEF is one of only two new types in the New Allocations section this month. Found Brothers Aviation was established in 1946 when the brothers designed the four-seat FBA-1 to specifically operate in the rugged environment of Northern Canada. It was a high wing monoplane with a fixed tricycle undercarriage of steel tube and fabric-covered construction.

The prototype first flew on July 13 1949 powered by a 140hp (104kW) De Havilland Gipsy Major engine, but its flight characteristics were much poorer than expected.
