Warfare without using weapons
With the introduction of a new generation network centric capabilities and other advances in communications and situational awareness, the ADF has begun to ramp up its capabilities that cause non-kinetic effects.
Previously not considered a high priority in defence planning by the ADF, there has been a marked shift in momentum in recent years towards developing mainstream non-kinetic capabilities. The most commonly discussed example of this changing attitude is the likelihood of acquiring an electronic attack capability late next decade through the conversion of some of the recently acquired F/A-18F Super Hornets into EA-18G Growlers.
