Sovereign rule
Cessna’s Citation Sovereign
Since its successful launch in 1998, the Citation Sovereign has become a strong seller for Cessna and looks likely to dominate the midsize business jet market for some time.
The Sovereign concept arose in the mid 1990s when Cessna identified a gap in the market for a new generation mid size business jet. Most other aircraft in the 8-12 seat range were older IAI Westwinds, Dassault Falcon 10s, North American/ Rockwell Sabreliners and Hawker 125s, which were beginning to age and would be candidates for replacement in the early 2000s.
