Green tinge for the red roo?
The Qantas Group has joined Virgin Blue in offering its passengers the ability to offset the carbon emissions of their flights through a carbon offset program dubbed ‘Fly Carbon Neutral’.
Qantas CEO Geoff Dixon announced the scheme with federal environment minister Malcolm Turnbull in Canberra on September 18, with Qantas Group passengers able to pay a small additional fee when booking their tickets which will be used to purchase carbon offsets with Australian Greenhouse Office (AGO) approved ‘Greenhouse Friendly’ abatement schemes.
