Aerospatiale Expansion Underway
Aerospatiale Helicopters Australia (AHA) commenced work on its $A4 million facility at Sydney’s Bankstown Airport with a ceremonial sod turning at the end of April on site by the NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Mr Wal Murray.
To be completed by the end of the year, the project will see Aerospatiale complete assembly of its fixed and rotary wing range of aircraft from a ‘CKD’ (completely knocked down) condition which will greatly increase the Australian dollar content. Staff numbers will increase from 25 to 40. The company, which recently reorganised its ownership to 95% Aerospatiale and 5% OFEMA, is now also responsible for marketing its products in New Zealand.
