Strategic is currently involved in a three-way competition for additional rights on the Indonesia route, with Qantas and Pacific Blue also contesting for a slice of 4000 additional seats which were made available earlier this year. By operating its flights from Brisbane to Denpasar through Port Hedland and Townsville, the services do not require an allocation of capacity under the Australia-Indonesia bilateral agreement as Strategic already has an allocation of unlimited capacity to Indonesia on ports other than the main gateway cities.
