The light aircraft, registered as VH-TKK, was diverted to RAAF Base Tindal after a total electrical failure and came within close proximity of two military aircraft on final approach using the same runway.

Part of Bankstown’s $60 million Aviation Hangar Project Major Development Plan (MDP), the project will see the construction of two new hangars and associated facilities, which will support up to 10 GA operations in the southwest Sydney region.

Starting February next year, the smaller jets will operate flights from the Sunshine Coast to Sydney and Melbourne, replacing the 737s that currently operate these routes.

The Alauda Aeronautics Mk4 has been given CASA approval, with Airspeeder hailing it as the “world’s first experimental flight certification for a racing eVTOL”. Described as a “next-generation racecraft”, the Mk4 is set to be unveiled later this year.
