“Another proud milestone for Collins Aerospace. After two months of dedicated onsite and remote collaboration, our team has successfully delivered the POM Airport upgrade project, implementing the latest airport technology to elevate efficiency and passenger experience,” according to a public statement from Collins Aerospace.
“The upgraded systems include Common Use Passenger Processing System, Flight Information Display System, Airport Operational Database, Resource Management System and Passenger Reconciliation System.”
The upgrades are part of a major “Airport City” redevelopment previously announced by the PNG government to coincide with Papua New Guinea’s 50th independence anniversary in September this year. The redevelopment plan included construction of a second runway for domestic traffic, parking, storage, cargo and terminal upgrades (such as a VIP lounge).
