Hypersonix has tipped launch provider Rocket Lab USA for the test flight of its mostly 3D-printed DART AE scramjet.
The primary purpose of the 100-day mission is to test the aircraft’s unique “super pressure” technology, but it will also carry a telescope from Princeton University that will image large galaxy clusters.
CEO Dan Hart said in a new statement he believed the “cutting-edge technology” created by the business would have “wide appeal to buyers”.
The event, supported by principal partner KBR, is organised by Australian Aviation's sister brand Space Connect. This year's black-tie gala ceremony is on Wednesday, 17 May 2023 at the ICC in Sydney.
The business will cease operations “for the feasible future” after failing to secure a rescue deal. It follows its botched launch in the UK earlier this year.
CEO Dan Hart extended stand down for most of the business’s employees but insisted discussions on a potential injection of cash are still ongoing.
