A Melbourne-based drone company will soon begin flying up to five drones per one pilot, after clinching a major regulatory approval.
Speaking at a Coalition campaign launch in Brisbane on Sunday, Morrison stated that, if elected, the party will bolster Australia’s Loyal Wingman fleet by “a further seven aircraft”.
The government has though stressed it is yet to determine the size of the fleet, despite reports claiming 40 drones were ordered for $1.3 billion.
Current rules state that it is illegal to fly devices weighing more than 250g within 5.5km of most airports, unless pilots obtain an exemption.
