The Australian aerospace company, specialising in hydrogen scramjet propulsion technology and hypersonic aircraft design and manufacture, has announced that it signed a framework contract with the MOD earlier this month for the multi-supplier Hypersonic Technologies and Capability Development Framework (HTCDF) initiative.
Registered A62-001, the jet is one of two slated to arrive in coming months and will be used to fly government ministers and the Governor-General, replacing two ageing 737-700s.
Approximately 140 aircraft and more than 4,000 personnel from 20 nations are participating in this year’s iteration of Exercise Pitch Black from 12 July to 2 August. The event is celebrating the largest participation in its 43-year history.
The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) will be hosted by the Royal Australian Air Force until 18 October this year.
Air Marshal Chappell has become the 28th Chief of Air Force and will be charged with ensuring that the Royal Australian Air Force becomes increasingly integrated and focused.
The aircraft flew in formation over Broughton Island, Tomaree Peninsula, Port Stephens, Newcastle, and Lake Macquarie during the deployment, focused on enhancing interoperability between the USN and RAAF.
