The NZ government is exploring all options for assisting New Zealanders stranded by the Iran conflict, according to Foreign Minister Winston Peters and Defence Minister Judith Collins. It comes as the Australian Defence Force has signalled it is also ready to evacuate citizens from the Gulf.
The awards acknowledge excellence across a broad cross-section of the industry, from high-performing technical, operations and communications specialists under 35 to leading reserve support and training development programs making a tangible impact nationwide.
A special taskforce has been established to assist in the evacuations, should Australian citizens within the affected countries be deemed under immediate threat.
The aircraft wing flap ship-set is manufactured by Quickstep, a subsidiary company of ASDAM, a leading national manufacturer and provider of defence equipment. The C-130J aircraft is manufactured at Quickstep’s facility in Bankstown Airport and is set to be the 300th ship-set delivered to Lockheed Martin.
During the Project Overwatch test flight, conducted at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, a Lockheed Martin-built and trained AI/machine learning model resolved ID ambiguities among emitters, improving situational awareness and reducing pilot decision making latency.
The ramp-up in production follows strong performance during ground and flight testing, the manufacturer says, with multiple aircraft now undergoing evaluation.
