Hawaiian Airlines has announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Airbus to buy six A330-800neos from 2019, and has taken purchase rights on an additional six aircraft. Airbus’A350 XWB MSN001 prototype has successfully conducted its Maximum Energy Rejected Take-Off (MERTO) tests. Conducted at the French government’s Istres test facility near Marseille on July 19, the MERTO tests were a follow-on from the previous ‘High Energy Rejected Take-Off’ (HERTO) tests conducted in May, and are a mandatory element of the aircraft’s certification process.

Irish organisation ASL Aviation Group has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Lockheed Martin to purchase 10 LM-100J Hercules transports. The LM-100J is a commercial freighter version of the familiar C-130J-30 Hercules, and is the marketing name of the L-382J, a type design update notification for which was submitted to the US FAA in January.
