The consortium of super funds eyeing the purchase of Sydney Airport have threatened to leave the negotiation table after the airport swiftly denied a revised bid on Monday.
Sydney Airport has again rejected a takeover bid, now worth $22.8 billion, arguing the revised offer “continues to undervalue” the company.
Wednesday 11 August 2021 marks 100 years since the opening of Essendon Fields Airport, making it one of the oldest operating airports in the world.
Qantas last year outsourced its remaining ground-handling operations, meaning some airports are now entirely staffed by those that could miss out, effectively shutting down their operation to passengers.
The deal to move the location of arrivals processing was made off the back of advice from Australia’s chief nurse, who raised concerns about processing lines of arrivals at the RAAF base during Darwin’s wet season.
The review will essentially look to investigate whether or not actual noise and aircraft operations following the opening of the new runway are in line with what was modelled in earlier flight path design and environmental assessment processes.
