Brisbane Airport has warned that foreign airlines may exit the Queensland market in favour of other states due to ongoing "profit-killing" passenger caps.
The nation Aircraft Noise Ombudsman (ANO) has ruled that Airservices Australia did not provide “full and complete information” to Brisbane communities about the potential noise generated by its airport’s new runway.
However, Gert-Jan de Graaff also warned if Queensland waits too long to allow cap-free travel then airlines would take their business elsewhere.
Chairman Rob Chapman said Brenton Cox will bring considerable experience and understanding of the airport’s operations from his previous role.
Current Air New Zealand chief operating officer Carrie Hurihanganui has resigned from the airline to take up her new role as the first female CEO of Auckland Airport.
It comes despite the Australian Airports Association's CEO warning last month that his members were in the dark on the procedures for welcoming passengers back.
