CASA is collaborating with ACMA on mitigation measures to make sure potential interference to radio altimeters (radalts) from 5G is minimised and that the rollout of wireless broadband, including 5G, in the mid-band range (3.7-4.0GHz) will impact air safety as little as possible.

While BITRE data showed it still had the highest cancellation rate and lowest on-time performance (OTP) among major airlines in May, the low-cost carrier’s cancellation rate almost halved to 4.2 per cent and OTP increased by five percentage points to 62.4 per cent.

The airline will fly between Brisbane and Uluru on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday using Airbus A320 aircraft. The first flight, JQ667 on board the A320-200 VH-XNN, touched down at Ayers Rock Airport just before 11am on Thursday.

Dovetail, which is 20 per cent owned by Rex, will use HTWO’s fuel cells for initial testing in Australia as a preliminary step to full-scale trials, with an eye to conducting a first flight next year. The HTWO system will be integrated with Dovetail’s Iron Bird, which was successfully tested last year.
