The co-pilot of flight FZ103, who last week allegedly stabbed the captain mid-flight in an attempt to gain control of the aircraft before being disarmed by passengers, appeared to have spent several years studying in Melbourne nearly 10 years ago.

The partnership will see Sydney Airport transform its T1 International forecourt and give passengers the opportunity to engage with players, take part in activities, and win tickets to games.

AIPA, the major union representing the Qantas Group pilot cohorts, stated that while a similar incident is unlikely to occur in Australia for several reasons, it highlights the importance of a balanced approach to pilot mental health and wellbeing.

Scheduled for Sunday, 12 September 2027, the 2027 RAAF Air Show will take place at Langley Park in the Perth CBD, with static displays of aircraft and military equipment, as well as RAAF personnel on hand to answer questions.

Organised by the AMDA Foundation, Avalon Airshow is by far Australia’s largest air show and aerospace trade event and is run in collaboration with the Royal Australian Air Force and Victorian state government. Earlier this year, the 2027 event dates were firmed up, with Avalon due to take off from 23–28 February 2027.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that “at least” two Australians were on board flydubai flight FZ103 during an attempted hijacking incident and emergency landing on Wednesday, 30 September.
