The fuselage is used across all three variants of the F-35 aircraft and assembled at Northrop’s Integrated Assembly Line in California. Northrop Grumman said its IAL facility produces and delivers one centre fuselage every 30 hours.

Major-General (retired) Jeremy King, former Head of Joint Aviation Systems for Defence Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, will officially assume the position in February, following a formal transition period.

Leaving the position is Air Commodore David Strong, who said he is “confident that under Air Commodore Brett Williams’ leadership, Air Force Training Group will continue to thrive”.

Air Vice-Marshal (Ret’d) Steve “Zed” Roberton, who left Lockheed Martin after just six weeks last January, will assume the position, also becoming the chairperson of Boeing Australia Holdings.

At RAAF Base Williamtown, No. 2 Squadron designed a limited, special edition pink patch for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, while in November, many Aircraftmen participated in Movember, a campaign dedicated to raising awareness for some of the struggles Australian men face the most.

The note, signed by Allied nations aviators, is believed to be from approximately 1 to 19 July 1942, and holds up to 30 signatures from RAAF and US Air Force personnel.
