Regional Express has acquired its own Saab 340 full flight simulator to be installed at its Wagga Wagga-based Australian Airline Pilot Academy (AAPA).
Rex says the Flight Safety built simulator features Flight Safety’s Vital 9 visual system, and is the youngest Saab 340 sim of its type in the world. It will be installed in a “purpose built training facility” which will “boast the latest training technology”, Rex says. Construction of the new simulator building, currently in the planning stages, is scheduled to be completed in September, with Rex anticipating CASA qualification of the simulator in October.
