iscoverDenmark’s Defence Minister, Soren Gade, has announced that a major fighter order planned for this year will be deferred because the country has failed to come to a decision on the successful bidder.
Denmark currently operates 62 F-16AMs which it bought in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and will choose between the Lockheed Martin F-35A, Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and Saab JAS-39E/F Gripen NG as a replacement.

Despite having a requirement for 48 operational aircraft from a core fleet of 62, Denmark is also reportedly looking to reduce this number to just 30 from a smaller core fleet and possibly retaining some of the F-16s, all of which have been extensively upgraded in the past decade.
