Australian Defence Force Helicopter School Now Training Own Qfi’s

At a recent briefing given by the ADF Helicopter School, details were provided of significant developments in the training of Qualified Flying Instructors (QFIS) to meet the growing needs of the ADF.

By way of background, following the transfer of the battlefield helicopter function from the RAAF to Army, it was decided to reform No 5 Sqn RAAF, which had previously undertaken most of the ADF helo training at RAAF Fairbairn, into the ADF Helicopter School, under Army control.
