Weekend Away. . . ?

A re-enactment by Macarthur Job

It is to be a merry long weekend in Adelaide for Melbournians Rick, Ken, Darryl and Tom. The plan is to fly there in a pristine Piper Cherokee 235, hired from a flying school at Moorabbin with which both Rick and Ken had been associated for several months.

As an unrestricted private pilot of three years standing and 140 hours in his log book, Rick is the natural to be pilot-in-command. Ken, who will be copilot, has only been flying for six months, but thanks to hard work and dedication, has just succeeded in having the area restriction lifted from his licence. Their friends Darryl and Tom are not pilots them- selves, but have been on local flips with them several times and are more than happy to share the cost of the Cherokee in return for the weekend away.
