Ansett Express Fokker 50 VH-FNH became the third of its type to carry the colours of the Indian regional operator Rajair, when it was rolled out of the Ansett hangar at Melbourne in late August. Meanwhile the two other Rajair Fokker 50s VH-FNE and VH-FNF remain static at Melbourne. Ansett Express Fokker 50 VH-FNI, which has been in storage in the Melbourne Jet Base since June, was moved into the Ansett hangar during August. At time of writing VH-FNI was being brought back to airworthy standard though its ultimate fate has yet to be ascertained.

Australian Airlines Boeing 727-276 VH-TBM had its mark- ings removed at Melbourne on August 16 in preparation for its ferry to the United States, however as of late August VH-TBM was still showing no signs of leaving. AI A300B4-203 VH-TAD and Boeing 737-476 VH-TJP are the two latest aircraft in the Australian Airlines fleet to be painted in Qantas colours with both aircraft entering service in their new livery during September. The planned painting of Boeing 737-476 VH-TJR which we reported in August issue “Traffic’ has been deferred to a later date. Australian Airlink BAe 146-100 VH-NJC was the first ofits fleet to be painted in the new colour scheme adopted by the regional airlines in the Qantas Group. The change in colour scheme for the BAe 146 came during routine overhaul in Adelaide in August. VH-NJC was then ferried to Brisbane where it re-entered service with Australian Airlink on August National Airlines Boeing 727-77C VH-TBS was rolled out of the Ansett hangar at Melbourne in early September after being painted in the colours of the Cincinnati, Ohio based cargo airline DHL Airways.
