Terrafugia has unveiled scale model of its next generation Transition flying car aircraft at the 2010 EAA Convention at Oshkosh.
The “street legal airplane” is designed to convert from a road car into a light aircraft, and is the branchild of a group of Massachusetts Institute of Technology trained engineers. In flight, it is powered by a Rotax 912S engine with a pusher propeller, and features a touch-screen interface in the cockpit. It has recently been granted FAA approval to be operated in the Light Sport Aircraft category and will also meet US requirements for motor vehicles.

Woburn, Massachusetts based Terrafugia is currently accepting deposits for the Transition, and is planning to start deliveries of the aircraft/car in late 2011.
