Nominations closing soon to enter the Australian Space Awards 2026

Hosted by Space Connect, the awards celebrate the companies, institutions and individuals driving the rapid growth of Australia’s space industry. With submissions already flowing in, organisers are encouraging professionals across the sector to submit their nominations before the deadline.

Winners will be revealed at a black-tie gala at the Hyatt Regency Sydney, bringing together the nation’s leading space innovators for what is quickly becoming the industry’s “night of nights”.

Thirty categories are open for nominations, including Academic Research Team of the Year, Business of the Year – Large, and Launch Business of the Year, as well as awards recognising standout individuals across the sector.

Entries span 14 individual awards and 16 company categories, covering major primes, SMEs, universities and industry organisations. High-performing individuals, from executives and engineers to students, scientists and technicians, are also eligible for recognition.

Defence & aerospace lead at Momentum Media, Steve Kuper, said: “Year after year, I am blown away by the calibre of the nominations we receive from across Australia’s burgeoning space industry and this year is no different.”

The awards are open to any organisation operating in Australia that supports the space sector, including telecommunications, satellite services, energy, mining, transport and defence.

Kuper added: “We have seen strong interest and even stronger competition, particularly in the areas of Earth Observation, Indigenous Business and Large Business of the Year categories, and I would encourage anyone on the fence about nominating to get their nominations in quickly.”

Organisers said the awards offer a powerful platform for individuals and organisations looking to build their reputation and showcase their contribution to Australia’s growing space capability.

Submissions must be made online and typically take around two to three hours to complete.

The awards also come ahead of the Australian Space Summit & Exhibition, returning to Sydney on 17–18 June, where leaders from government, Defence, industry and academia will gather to discuss the future of Australia’s space sector.

With the deadline for nominations fast approaching, organisers are encouraging anyone making an impact in the industry to put their name or their team’s forward.

“This is your chance to be recognised for the outstanding work you, a colleague, or your business do in shaping Australia’s space sector,” Kuper said.
