Air New Zealand has finally released more details around its much-hyped Skynest.
This week, Adam, Chris and Jake discuss whether the bunk bed design is a revolution or PR stunt.
Plus, the team discusses reports we’ll soon be flying between London and Sydney in two hours.
Can it possibly be worse than 18 hours in economy?

says:I’m typing this quickly before heading off on the bike and will listen to most of the podcast while mobile. The concept is no gimmick IMO. I say that for several reasons:
1. We know most long haul passengers would prefer to lie down.
2. There are endless ways to configure a cabin that haven’t been tried due to the conservatism of airlines in wanting to preserve the only mix of offers that they know works.
3. This looks like a solid concept to keep the current economic model while adding an attainable experience upgrade for most passengers.
Air NZ are pretty switched on. Chances are that they will implement this competently. I reckon it will work to the point that more units are installed in each aircraft over time.
