Flight Experience gains CASA certification for pilot training & instrument recency

There are multiple sessions available in the real 737 simulator, ranging from basic educational, exhilarating or challenging experiences.

Flight Experience has been part of the Australian aviation industry for over 15 years. Starting in Sydney in 2005 and then expanding into Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Flight Experience became the largest flight simulator entertainment company in the country. Now, with a new CEO, Flight Experience is expanding rapidly into all corners of the industry, from education to training. Partnering with other fantastic aviation companies, Flight Experience can now offer a wide range of products and services to new, experienced and aspiring commercial pilots.

All of Flight Experience’s simulators are based on the Boeing 737-800 and have all been recently upgraded to become CASA approved for Multi-Crew Cooperation courses, as well as certified as Category B Synthetic trainers for instrument recency. In partnership with Aviation Australia in Brisbane, Flight Experience has become the best nationwide solution to gaining your MCC qualification. We now plan to become the most cost-effective means of maintaining your instrument recency and to gain jet-aircraft simulator experience.

“This year has obviously been a trying time for the industry, and everyone working in it, but the industry is a resilient one. We believe it will bounce back, and will do so rapidly through 2021 as vaccines are developed around the world,” says Ben Evans, Flight Experience CEO. “We have already started to see a return of pilots to our training products, especially to start preparing themselves for the return to work in the near future. Our simulators are perfect for use by all commercial pilots to ‘dust off’ their procedures, instrument scans and general mental currency.”

Flight Experience has already started to put together very cost-effective packages for pilots who have been stood down or let go, in order to get them back into the flight deck working on their skills and procedures. We are in a unique position to help support the industry in this area, and as pilots ourselves, we understand that our skills are perishable and that pilots should never stop practicing. But where do you go when the airlines fail to open their simulators to their stood-down workforce? At all Flight Experience locations around the country, you can now privately hire our simulators for as little as $100 per hour, after being checked out by one of our instructors on the device. Plus, bring another pilot and split the cost, or pay a little extra to have one of our instructors with you.

Learn to operate an FA-18 or F15 military jet around some of America’s most iconic landscapes. Your mission includes free flight, exercises, takeoff and landing, in an immersive experience as you and the aircraft take on the sky.

As a company, Flight Experience has come a long way from its history as a pure entertainment provider. And although this is still a big part of who we are, we now see ourselves as a location for both aviation professionals and anyone interested or passionate about the industry. From entertainment, through to education and pilot training, Flight Experience connects people to the industry in many ways. Over the past few years, Flight Experience has developed a course for UNSW’s MBA program, as well as Australia’s most successful one-on-one fear of flying program. We continue to push forward and look for new ways to connect people to the industry.

In 2019, Flight Experience introduced the new virtual reality flight simulators that have been completely designed and developed in-house to create an all-in-one platform for virtual flight. The resulting device has received amazing reviews both in Australia and around the world. These platforms are truly awesome and are incredibly immersive and realistic. We have already had many pilots, through their PPL and CPL training, using the platforms instead of arm-chair flying.

Virtual Reality has a big part to play in Aviation over the coming years, and we plan to continue to develop our platforms and products to fit this growing field. If you haven’t tried them yet, jump onto our website for more information.

“I did the F-18 VR flight experience and it was beyond my expectations! The VR experience was sensational and transformative compared to flight sim on a fixed screen,” says Andrew, a VR customer.

As the industry starts to pick up again, we want to support pilots and the pilot training sector as much as we can. We are always looking for new partners and partnerships within the industry to bring our customers better and more cost-effective products and services.
