Emil Cooper shot this Classic Hornet being farewelled by No. 77 Squadron over Nobbys Beach, Newcastle, on 10 December 2020. The aircraft in question, A21-39, was delivered to the RAAF in 1988, is the Commanding Officer’s and was flown on the day by Wing Commander Jason ‘Easty’ Easthope (CO of 77SQN). It’s painted in a commemorative scheme that has been adapted over the years. It currently features five silhouetted hornets on the outside edge of the vertical stabilisers with the text ’1987 2020’ and ’33 years hornet’ below it.

Dave Soda shot this UH-60, operated in partnership with US-based Firehawk Helicopters, in Mangalore on 4 February. The aircraft, named Firehawk 1 or Helitak 125, is on the US register as N125FH. Its internal ‘HawkTank’ has a 3,500-litre capacity, which is filled via the snorkel and can be filled in less than a minute. The aircraft is operated with a two-man crew and has a three-hour endurance.
Rob Finlayson caught his moment a Cathay Pacific Boeing 777-300ER landed in Hobart in the rain. The 777-367(ER), B-KPY msn 780A2A, departed Sydney on 7 February 2021 at 5:41pm as flight CX111 and landed in Hobart at 7:12pm.
