Antique Aero 2020 fly-in move
The President of the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia, Matt Henderson, has announced that Wangaratta, Victoria will be the venue for the 2020 annual fly-in.
In making the announcement Henderson said that while Echuca, Victoria had been the venue for the past few years, it was felt not enough had been done by the council to assist with the running of the event, particularly in relation to conditions at the airport. President Henderson went on to say that other councils had expressed a keen interest in having the AAAA at their aerodrome given that a large number of people and their aircraft were a financial benefit to the town. This applied to accommodation, fuel for aeroplanes and motor vehicles, meals and so on, and – of course – a Saturday night presentation event.
