Avalon highlights Aussie and Kiwi general aviation innovators
There is no argument that the F-35A and its military cohorts stole the limelight at the recent International Air Show at Avalon – and with good reason. However, there were other players in the mix that didn’t necessarily have spectators craning their necks to see vapour clouds flowing from the leading edge. Manning their stands in the main halls or welcoming patrons to look more closely at their wares were a wide range of General Aviation exhibitors.
Their goods included component manufacturing and software, pilot supplies and pilot training. It was a reminder of how far reaching the aerospace extends beyond the usual frontline image of an airliner or fighter aircraft. And while there were a good many exhibitors there were three that peaked the interest as one wandered amid the crowds.
