Kittyhawks on the move

South Australia’s Classic Jets Fighter Museum at Parafield has sold Curtiss P-40N-5 Kittyhawk 42-104947, named Carolina Belle, in the US. In early August the aircraft, better described as a rebuild project, was moved from Adelaide to Melbourne in preparation for shipping to its new home.

Carolina Belle’s new owner is reported to be a French national living in Boston, and its sale is part of the museum’s downsizing. The aircraft was recovered from Finschaffen, PNG back in 1997.
