Indonesian government looks to privatise still-grounded Merpati
Everyone thought it was dead in the water but apparently there is still life in the battered body of Indonesia’s state-owned domestic carrier Merpati Nusantara Airlines. Grounded two years ago with debts of more than A$600 million, crippled by cash flow problems and unable to obtain fuel on credit or pay its staff, most pundits had delivered the last rites and declared its future was non-existent.
Apparently not.
