AIR 5428 progresses in the queue

After seven years of delays, hindrances and obstacles, a draft Request for Tender for the AIR 5428 Pilot Training System (PTS) project was released to defence industry for comment in early 2013. The project aims to provide the ADF with a new fixed-wing pilot training system, covering flight screening through to pre-entry into the Lead- In Fighter Training, operational conversion Units, and the Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS).

“The AIR 5428 draft RFT was released for defence industry comment on 9 January 2013. It is planned to release the final RFT in the third quarter of 2013,” a Defence spokesperson told Australian Aviation.
