Cope North

Training and engagement with the US and Japan

Cope North, begun in 1978 a bilateral, biannual military exercise between the United States and Japan, has since grown into the largest air defence exercise held in the Pacific Region.

The RAAF was invited to join the now tri-lateral Cope North 2012, staged at Anderson AB, Guam, and involving over 1000 personnel and a diverse range of aircraft, from Japanese E-2C, Mitsubishi F-2s and F-15Cs, to USAF E-3s, C-130Hs, Aggressor F-16s, KC-135s and B-52s.
