Red Q’s Malaysian hue?
Malaysia at the centerpiece of Qantas’ Asia plans?
There seems little doubt that Qantas will pick Kuala Lumpur as its major hub for Asia after facing a host of obstacles for the Singapore option related to rights to key destinations. While there seems little doubt now about the location the make-up and structure of the premium airline dubbed Red Q is however far from clear with links to Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia in the mix say insiders.
With the bitter one-year battle with three key unions now at an end Qantas CEO Alan Joyce is now focused in solidifying a structure with Malaysian interests. Those Malaysian interests are AirAsia, AirAsiaX and Malaysia Airlines.
