Cirrus has celebrated the delivery of its 5000th aircraft since production of its piston single engine light aircraft line began in 1999.
The 5000th aircraft, SR22 N5000J, features a special commemorative paint scheme, and was presented to new owner Joe Wisenhunt at the recent 2011 AOPA Summit.

“We are truly excited and humbled to be delivering the 5000th Cirrus aircraft,” said Dale Klapmeier, CEO of Cirrus Aircraft. “When we started, we dreamed of building airplanes that made people’s lives easier and better. Five thousand aircraft later, we’re proud of this achievement and we will continue to improve upon that dream.”
Cirrus says its SR22 model has been the world’s best selling piston single “for nine years in a row”.
