Davis, a former chief pilot with Rex predecessor Hazelton Airlines, has been in the role of managing director since May 2008, but will remain on the Rex board as independent director.
Meanwhile boardmember Russell Hodge is also stepping down from the Rex board as an independent director on July 1. Hodge as previously a significant shareholder in now Rex owned subsidiary Pel-Air.
Rex chairman Lim Kim Hai thanked both men for their service to the airline, bringing “more than half a century of aviation experience” to the board.

“Their steady hands were instrumental in guiding the group through some of the worst crisis the aviation world has ever experienced. I wish Russell a happy and well deserved retirement, and look forward to Jim’s ongoing involvement as an independent non-executive director of Rex,” Lim said.
