Airbus’s 787 counter “progressing along”
Airbus officials recently updated aerospace media representatives on the company’s new A350 twin jet during its ‘Innovation Days’ series of briefings in Hamburg in May.
The manufacturer predicts 5900 aircraft will be sold in the medium twin-aisle market over the next 20 years, half of which it says will be captured by its three model A350 family. Other aircraft in this category include Airbus’s own hot selling A330 which the company plans to be build alongside early A350s, the waning A340, Boeing’s 777 and its successor, and the 787, the first flight of which is imminent after a nearly two-year program delay.
