General Flying Services goes to Oxford

Melbourne based General Flying Services (GFS) looks set to enter a new era with the flying school announcing on September 10 that it had been acquired by UK based Oxford Aviation Academy.

The deal, which was backed by Oxford Aviation Academy’s (OAA) investor STAR Capital partners, will see GFS come under OAA’s global ab initio training arm, while managing director Ross Carrington has also agreed to stay on, and will assist in building up OAA’s presence in Australia and the wider Asia Pacific region.
