787 to Face More Delays?
Boeing May Not Deliver the First 787 Dreamliner Until July Next Year, According to Goldman Sachs Analyst Richard Safran.
Citing Unnamed Sources at Boeing, Safran Said in a Report That the Company Has Underestimated the Amount of Work on the Program and That Production Problems Would Delay Turning Power on the First Aircraft and the Subsequent Flight Test Program. “We Now Think Deliveries Will Start in the Third Quarter of 2009 Versus the Current ‘early’ 2009 Target. ” Boeing Has Been Reviewing Its Development and Production Schedule for the 787 Program and is Due to Update the Market on Its Status by the End of the Month. Earlier Indications From Boeing Officials Were That the Aircraft Was on Track to Power on in April and Make Its First Flight in Late June.
