Singapore Evaluates Aew:

Singapore is looking to purchase extra airborne early warning (AEW) aircraft to initially supplement and then replace its existing fleet of four Grumman E-2C Hawkeyes.

Types being evaluated are additional upgraded Hawkeyes, the Fokker 50 Enforcer and the Saab 340AEW, the prototype of which first flew in January this year. Singapore has already ordered four Fokker Enforcer 2s for the maritime patrol/anti surface warfare role and deliveries have begun. Because of this, the Fokker is regarded by most observers as the likely choice for AEW duties.
